Hello! I’m Lara, a 17 year old student from the UK.
16 year old TEDx Speaker driven by curiosity and a love of learning.
I've long wrestled with a personal tension: in a world that rewards early specialisation, what happens if your interests refuse to fit into one lane? Many young people feel anxious about their futures, pressured to narrow their options too soon. As AI reshapes the job market, I argue that adaptability, curiosity and the ability to connect ideas across disciplines may matter more than credentials alone. In a world transformed by AI, could generalists be just what the future needs...
I study Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Physics at A level, alongside pursuing a deep interest in AI and technology. I often reflect on the philosophical questions tech raises about our future.
I also absolutely love creating communities and leading initiatives that help others grow. At school I’ve led Code Club and Upskill Club; I’m the founder of ‘Changemakers Live,’ a conference inspired by the concept of TED, and the president of the ‘Digital Innovation & AI Council.’
I run a small online stationery business and as part of the Young Entrepreneurs Forum, I help shape the UK’s business landscape for young people.
